Writing
Creative expression through writing is an integral part of my holistic approach to wellness - a movement practice for my imagination and a way to stay connected to my inner world. I offer my voice on behalf of our planet-wide effort to create a harmonious, balanced future on the earth. For the past nine years, I have been a contributing writer for Dark Matter: Women Witnessing, an online magazine based in Montreal that explores how dreams and communications with the non-human world help us understand and experience our inseparableness from nature. You can find my work in issues #3, 5, 8, 11, 12, and 16. My essays and poems can also be found in several print and online environmental journals, including Flyway, The Hopper, The Dark Mountain Project, and Blueline Magazine, issues #38, 39, 40, 41, and 44.
In August 2023, I became a poet with Writing the Land Northeast, a collaborative organization that partners poets with conserved parcels of land to raise awareness about the importance of land conservation. In 2023, I read my work at their annual Authors and Artists Festival, and at the 2023 Valentine's Day Love Letter Poetry Reading at The Poet's Corner in Maine . In January 2024, I was named the finalist for the Barry Lopez Creative Non-Fiction Award at Cutthroat Journal of the Arts.
Poems and essays are found in the fall 2024 issues of About Place Journal and The Black River Anthology, and forthcoming in Eastern Iowa Review. I also participate in annual National Poetry Month celebrations in Randolph, Montpelier, St. Johnsbury, and Bradford, Vt. where my work is included in Poem Town anthologies. I have read my work in my local community as part of the Summer Meeting House Authors' series in Corinth, Vt.
